Hello conure and other bird friends! Things have been going so well with our Stitchy. You have been so ridiculously helpful.
Here's the rundown:
-Haven't towelled him since I posted about it a couple weeks ago. I felt pretty silly about that by the way.
-He's definitely eating pellets. I've been giving him less seed; yesterday or the day before I saw him taking a pellet at a time and using his water bowl to dunk it to make it easier to eat, I assume.
-Vitamins added to water
-A few times since the weekend I've had my husband place him on my shoulder so we could hang out. it's such a delight! He whispers (literally) in your ear and preens my hair a little, and chews on my buttons or collar. He's not as comfortable with me as with my husband (who he really kind of snuggles with) but he seems happy. If I sense he's getting agitated I return him to his cage door 'perch.' We sat on the porch Sunday and he got a lot of sun, and he yelled a little in response to the wild birds.
-Since starting this shoulder thing, he's much less afraid/aggressive with me. I have been able to scratch/stroke his chest in the last few days where before he would chomp on me.
this photo had NO filter. His coloring came out looking intense against the red wall!
and a very yellow-filtered pic:
