Hi everyone,
I have always gave me DYH fresh vegetables, but was wondering if the frozen stir fry vegetable bags that you can microwave are also okay to feed? I have heard some people feed their parrots those, but is it safe? Also, if it's okay, would it be better to thaw and serve or microwave them? Thanks in advanced.

Even my Amazon thinks I'm annoying...

Check for any unwanted ingredients such as onions. The bags of mixed veg would be alright.

I see no danger in those bags. Just check the veggies in them and make sure they're not too hot

I feed my cockatiels the frozen bags of corn, green beans, peas, carrots with other chop. When I want to feed them it, I let it thaw in the fridge and they are fine with it cold.

I do the same thing as itzjbean. The birds always like the corn best, but the peas, green beans, carrots, and broccoli are good too.

Thanks everyone, I'll make sure it looks good, hasn't expired, and thaw it properly.

There's some mix I believe I got from Giant? It could have been Acme, that was vegetables and white beans I believe that my birds really loved. Those I microwaved because of the beans, but any standard mix I put in a mesh strainer and rinse under hot water to thaw and warm, and that's worked very well for a small portion.

I always check for added seasonings or unwanted ingredients but most frozen vegetables are perfectly fine and great to have on hand.

So long as the mix doesn't contain a sauce, frozen veggies of any type are great!

mixed frozen veggies microwaved, add some rice, beans, maybe pasta
great meal for my three fids.

Some folks are concerned with the transfer of plastic chemicals to veggies during the heating process. So hard to differentiate these days between a genuine or mythical concern.

FWIW, many sources believe flash-frozen veggies are fresher and better than store-bought produce and certainly canned.

Many frozen veggies have added sodium. Personally I'd pass them up and go with steaming them myself, and then either refrigerate or freeze the leftovers.
