Hello! I was thinking about you earlier and though you might like to see what I've been up to lately. I've just finished third year Latin (going back for fourth year next year) and am about to embark on Introductory Mathematics. YUM!

Here's a pic of my homework.

Please write and fill me in on your news? How are Aida and the kids? (Boys must be so grown-up now!)

Trish :)

ROTFLMAO! 'Course I do! I'm a long-time member coming back after a break (also old enough to be Stephen's mother). I've still got other friends on the forum, so I posted publicly.

Lol I more thought of Adeleā€™s Hello than a dating site! The Latin looks crazy. Iā€™d never survive trying to learn that!

I havenā€™t seen him on any of the Facebook groups lately but havenā€™t been on as much either. Hmmm I think Iā€™m actually thinking of a different Stephen! The snake people are overlapping the bird ones in my brain:eek:

It's Anansi I'm after - he doesn't do facebook because he's so busy here. He became a mod just after I did, so we go 'way back. :)

So good to see you, Trish! Yep, Stephen is still around and I know he is going to be thrilled to hear from you!

You know this is a bird forum not a dating site.

Trish used to be one of our Super Mods ( & a wonderful one who is greatly missed!), she knows exactly what kind of site this is.

Woohoo! Hey Terry! How's the flock? Any additions I don't know about? I can't *believe* I've signed up for a corella, knowing how much work they are. But I'm up for it and she's a sweetie. We just need to find her new name real quick. 'Houdini' is NOT the name for that noble bird, the Corella.

PS. We've been having wild flocks of Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoos flying over our place. Normally, they live in the higher, more rainforesty areas, but I think ongoing drought has brought them into the suburbs. I don't mind a bit! We had eighteen of them in our tree one afternoon and the sound was deafening! Oh, and another time we had Mum and Dad feeding a young baby. In the suburbs!!!

PPS. It's so nice to be back. :)

I so wish I could see that outside my windows! I can't even imagine how amazing that must be!
I don't think you know about our last addition, a CAG named Merlin. He belonged to a friend's late FIL, and they tried to keep him, but he mimicked the dad's voice and it got to be too much for them. He is a mean one, gave me my worst bite ever..lol. The rest of the flock is great!

Trish, daaaaaaaaaaaahling! How goes it, my dear friend? Dating site or no, you've been greatly missed, hereabouts! (Those hidden dating flirtations must be expertly hidden. Guess my grasp of Latin isn't what it used to be. Lol!)

Fourth year Latin, eh? Most impressive! You will have officially passed me, then, as I believe I stopped at three. (Functionally speaking, however, I'm sure you passed me long ago. I remember precious little, beyond: O, S, T, Mus, Tis, Nt and the occasional agricola, puella, puer, magister or other such random word that will trigger a spark of recognition. Hahaha!

I'm so proud of you! HD's abound in your transcript, I bet!

Aida and the kids are good! And yes, the boys have grown. 10 and 7 now, and I couldn't be prouder of them.

A Corella, eh? Pics! I need pics!!!

G'day Stephen! It's so nice to 'see' you again! Yeah, I got really immersed in Latin and have enjoyed it hugely. LOL! I was sitting on an HD average until the second half of second year when we did Sallust. I took a plummet down to a D and I'm hoping (HOPING) to have improved my grade in the last exam. We'll see... There are only two more units I can take at my Uni and after that, who knows? I might pick up Greek. We'll see. Study has been good for me. Remember this for when you retire, OK?

Fancy your sweet boys being 10 and 7!!! It's amazing how quickly time goes, but no more so than when our kids are growing up, eh? Please tell them 'g'day' from Auntie Trisha in Australia and give my best to your dear wife, Aida.

The beginning of all this was when a lady nearby offered me her female Eclectus. She was moving house and needed to rehome her quickly. We did a lot of soul-searching and decided that a) it was too soon after Dommie's passing and b) we didn't have the experience to take care of an Eclectus and c) Matt heard someone say 'squirty poo' and immediately took a dislike to the idea.

You'll be sorry to know that female eclectus are very popular (and therefore very available through 'need gone ASAP' ads) around here. Why? They're the same colours as our local football team. Great reason to get a high-maintenance bird like an eclectus, eh? :( I felt bad about the girl we passed up, but I certainly didn't want a situation where we might have had to move her on yet again if she and Matt didn't get along.

So yeah. Now we have the highest maintenance of all birds, a cockatoo. Go figure. She's snoozing right now, but earlier had a bottle cap in her mouth and was dragging it across her cage bars making what you could understatedly call 'a noise' (deafening). She likes making sounds, so I'll investigate that over time. I've got a few baby rattles and other noisy toys packed away and I'm sure she'll enjoy them. It seems as if her name might be 'Rosetta' after the Alice Cooper song. Just waiting to see if Matt likes it (he's thinking about it).

So yeah! When you can, will you fill me in on work, home the universe and everything?

Cheers!
Trish :)

It's kind of embarassing to sort of step into a private conversation in the public part of the forum - even though you decided to play it like this (I asume you know how PM's work?)
Being included AND excluded at the same time is a bit confusing for me, sorry to say.

but you do have GREAT handwriting!
(I really needed to say that- really admire the pen(wo)manship- and that is the final thing I will post here, love the new birds stories!)
