Monte..Scarlet macaw, Seminole...yellow napped amazon, Starburst... sun conure...Rain, cinnamon green cheek.
I clipped him today.. its the first time since the day we got him home.. so it was a little traumatic for him.. the wife is still so unsure of things, that she took entirely too long to try to snip...so I had to settle him down, hold him and cut him...

Needless to say..he wasn't happy. He's still a bit agitated. More towards her than me, strangely..for the very first time, he flew away from us.. so yeah.. he was mad. :(

But he's doing better now.

It's usually recommended that the owner is not the one to do the clipping as the bird will hold it against them. Also if the bird has been full flighted and is being clipped, don't do a full clip all at once as the bird can "crash and burn". Recommend doing a partial clip and a week or so later complete the clipping.

He was clipped when we got him, we clipped him further the day we got him.. :)

I understand your meaning, but the first time, it was much less traumatic because I did it myself, plenty of experience on my macaw and my zon, just tried to let the wife help... wrong thing to do.. she wasn't ready yet.. my vet trained me.
