Parrots
11 month old Senegal Parrot - 3 year old SI Eclectus
Anyone on the forums familiar with them? I used to live in St. Thomas VI years ago and used to see them flying around and was curious as to what species they are. I did some checking and they are called the St. Thomas Brown Throated Conure. I used to watch them playing in trees back in the early to mid-70's.

I have a wonderful reference book that was just revised called Parrots of the World. There are so many different species of conures it amazes me. It seems the more beautiful the more rare. Examples: White necked conure, El Oro conure, Black capped (awesome), Azuero conure to name only a few. My fav. is the Red fronted conure. This photo does not do it justice compared to the book.

My friends mom had a pair of them, they were great when they were playing together, mix a human into the interaction and they were not so nice lol they didnt like anyone.

They were rather quiet birds, they would converse amongst themselves, but they were not overall loud birds, they were beautiful, those 2 just didn't like people, and if I remember correctly they were not hand fed.
