My life has been pretty stressful that past while, with family issues and other things. Things started settling down, and I felt more relaxed. Until a few days ago I found my cat who had been hiding for a day or two. Alive, but horribly emaciated and dehydrated, we rushed her to the Emergency vet. After being put on fluids, and a blood test that claimed every organ was looking great, we went home, with only a special kind of wet cat food to feed her by syringe. They said she looked fine enough, and since we didn't have all the money until tomorrow(today), they would not put her on IV fluids overnight. They said she would be fine anyway, so we went home. Needless to say, she was not fine, but we trusted their judgement. Late last night she passed away with a seizure or two. They did not even offer Euthanizing as an option, and we felt if we ordered her to be put down, then we wouldn't have tried.(Because she seemed okay to them). We should have put her down yesterday morning, and we should have. Whether they recommended it or not.

As of now, I feel like I will never go there again, and can no longer trust them with my furry pets.

My heart goes out to you...I'm sorry for your loss.

I've lost a dog and a cat. The tears flow and the pain comes right along. I hope and wish you the best through coping and making it through this.

I'm very sorry for your loss.

Thank you guys for your post, it means a lot to m.e I love this forum, and the people in it.

I feel like there could have been more to be done, but they wanted 500$ to keep her overnight. They felt like it was no big deal for us to go home with her, and having spent nearly a grand already we decided to wait until the next day. Needless to say, she died. I feel guilty in a way. I always do after a pet death.

Late last night our 4 year old Dachshund started vomiting and eliminating(to put it nicely), blood and mucus. I can't believe all the stress that has been happening... We called the vet early this AM and they explained it was just Colitis. PHEW! Sooo she is on a bland food diet only for about a week. I know we can get through all of this stress with family members and pet illnesses!

I'm very sorry you have lost Spring.

Many of us have been through this sort of agonizing uncertainty. Please allow yourself to grieve without second-guessing yourself. You had the very best of intent for Spring, and a review of the situation may be helpful at a later time.
