Here's a couple of links to Al Wabra Wildlife Preservation the leader in the captive breeding effort of the Spic Macaw (Cyanopsitta spixii). They have had seven chicks this year with at least two of these chicks being breed through artificial insemination.

Here's a link to the main site.

They're absolutely gorgeous birds and when I took a vacation 8-9 years ago to FL, I went to Busch Garden to see if I can view them in person. I looked everywhere and couldn't find it. I was quite disappointed....I know at one point they had a pair there, I think they produced one chick and one of the mate died.

I would love to help with this effort. Was not Blue in the movie Rio based on the Spix Macaw?

I would click on the like tab on the facebook site. You can contribute to this program there and similar Spix programs there. They had a contest about contributing to the Spix Macaw Conservation Program and they flew the winner from the USA to Al Wabra in Qatar. They gave the winner something in the way of a a four day behind the scenes look at the Spix Macaw program and other programs such as their Lears Macaw (Anodorhynchus leari) captive breeding program. It was a neat deal. There adult aviaries are state of the art if you have not seen them on the main site already.

Here's one of their large Spix Aviaries.
