Rat-chi? Rat-cha??

A little background:

Around 2013 my family/I adopted him from the local shelter. Before we had ''Pookie,'' a pomeranian for many years who showed up at our door step in the early 2000s with no leash or anything one cold winter, so we kept him. Sadly, in 2012, we were living in an apartment (and around that time I also moved back) and the one where we were living in had lots of ticks, we even had our good friend of ours at the time (who also was our landlady for renting different places) write to the company. But nothing. When we moved to a new house he just fell more ill, so we had to put him down. His last days were on the couch before we did put him down.

No doubt I miss him. Him and his lion cuts!! He'd always be smiling.

And then came Spencer. Many quirks and characteristics just like our Pom, plus many more!! He's what you'd expect out of a mix like him. Can't help but love that face though. He brings so much joy, fun and love. He's always happy to greet me in the morning, flopping back his ears and wagging his tail, licking me vigorously.

He's a ham!! And funnily enough, after having him, I can now spell ''Chihuahua'' better. :D

I'm so sorry for your loss of Pookie:( Thank goodness they live on in our memories since we have them for so short a time.

Spencer is absolutely adorable! I so love Chihuahuas, and now I know I love Rat-Chas too!
I just want to cuddle him:)

Spencer is precious! I love cute little dogs too. Funny how he has a Chihuahua toy :). Iā€™m so sorry to hear about Pookie. He will always be remembered, and each little one can never be replaced.

Beautiful face, especially the second image! Dogs are amazing, different from our birds but just as lovable in their own way!

Oh my gosh Spencer cā€™mere and let Auntie Inger smooch you all up! Darling! I have a Chihuahua (part time) and I canā€™t imagine ever having anything else. Theyā€™re such wonderful little characters-and combined with Rat Terrier! Haha! Youā€™re in for a time of it with the attitude youā€™ll get!!

Iā€™m so sorry about your Pom. Theyā€™re nice little guys too. ā¤ļø Losing a dog is pretty awful.

Thanks all!!

Totally agree about living in our memories and remembering certain moments, like routines. Had a few losses especially with a very special cat that we had....don't know if to make a separate thread for that...but either way...pets in general for sure live in our memories!

Spencer is quite the doggy character....though I'm more of a bigger dog person...but he's a total character, can be the typical PITA (all right reasons), but very unconditionally loving and funny. He chose us! Those ears, alone, are frolic!

Within a previous loss, it seems the next one offers an extra amount of TLC! Perhaps can sense mourning.

Always joke about dressing him up in shoes and a hat during the winter, because he wears an adorably cute doggy hoodie during the winter!

Just looked at his pics again. His markings are VERY similar to my PopTartā€™s. In case you donā€™t know this, there spot in the top of his head is a kiss target, so you know where to give him all the kisses. [emoji23][emoji23] Hereā€™s PopTart for comparison ā¤ļø

He does look like Spencer! Oh my garsh!! What a cutie patootie!

The spot on the head is certainly a kiss target! Spencer loves when I give him massages on his little head and playing with his big ears...he'll literally fall ASLEEP. I love it when he flops his ears back! He does it when he's very excited, happy or thinks he's in trouble (in which case he also puts his head down!).
