Hi,
I have dogs- some older who wet while walking to the door. What are some safe cleaning products for floors? I use plain water to mop with and a Sahrk, but sometimes need something a little stronger.
Also, same question for counters, stove, etc.
I'd rather go with something parrot owners have used safely than try to guess.
Thanks :)

Hey there :) Im sure some people will say its bad :p but I use dishwashing detergent on floors and benches. Naturally I dont use much to leave residue on the surfaces, but it does the trick perfectly.

I also use the steam mop which is the best invention ever!

I also think that diswashing liquid is the way to go... It removes grease and 'slopper' (bacteria).. it never leave a residue... you can use your dishes even after airdrying... There should be no reason, why it's not safe for floors.

you'd be amazed at how many natural solutions to bacteria and smell there are. most these things can be used on a 50/50 solution with water.
-citrus(lime, lemon or orange) juice is great to disinfect anything that can tolerate the acidity like floors, not sure about leather or cloth as it may bleach it. Smells good too.
-vinegar, by far My favorite. i cannot give you enough uses for vinegar, countertop cleaner, floor cleaner, odor eliminator for dog/ cat pee and poop. cage cleaner, does leave a smell and is very safe.
-baking soda: odor eliminator.
-peroxide: great antibacterial, wear gloves as it may make your skin whitish at least it does to me.
-alcohol: great antibacterial and disinfectant, evaporates quickly taking the "hospital smell" with it. you may not mix it with water for best results.
