spammers

I know that spammers happen. But on another very similar forum that I spend time on these spammer posts are never up for more than a half hour. And the "new member" spammer is immediatly banned from the forum.
Do we here have the moderators, do we have enough mods? to exert control over this nasty problem?

Tracy and I stay on top of it as much as we can, I always check before leaving for work and then when I come home again ... maybe we don't have enough mods ... I think I will take this up with Admin ...

I work at home and spend most of my free time on 3 different bird-oriented forums. I know very little about what a moderator does, but with as much time I have been spending here I'd happily apply to be a moderator if you guys would be willing to teach me.

Cool, I am going to have to a "monitor-to-monitor" (a computer face-to-face) with BlackNova (our Admin) and let him know what is going on ... there are a couple of options available to us right now ...
