I've searched the net and can't find a sound clip for Jardine's. Abby when she gets upset (I think) or wants something (I think) lets out this repetitive shriek that sounds like fingernails on a chalkboard and she gets louder and LOUDER. I just want to find out is she stressed or is this her morning/pm "call". I have a sun and we KNOW how loud they are, he doesn't bother me at all... Abby's "sound".. sometimes even brings me to tears because I don't know what the heck she wants and it makes me crazy. The sun is much louder, but since I know it's the morning/eve call.... I guess I don't go nuts.

On her positive side Abby came when I was sick yesterday and snuggled, put her beak in my ear and say "hey". and then "meow"...

Thanks guys!

Whenever I leave the house my Senegal lets out this weird shriek. Kind of a "Kionk, KEEE KEE KEE"! Sound similar?

VERY, but put an SH instead of the K sound... it honestly sounds like nails on a chalkboard. I adopted her and she was EXTREMELY spoiled and so she expects her own way all of the time. We're working on that. As long as that terrible sound doesn't put me in the looney bin LOL.

Yeah, that's her "HOW DARE YOU!!!" sound. Usually when we leave the room when she feels she deserves our attention, but she usually stops after two to four "KEEs". If it is the same, she's just being a brat and there is nothing wrong with her, so I wouldn't worry.

Thanks! That's it! She does it when I leave or when she wants something. We're working on postively reinforcing her good sounds and IGNORING the other. It's hard, but it's working. She was so loud I had to go into the other room and close the door - now it's been about a week.. and she does it but quieter. It's a challenge, she seems so much like my 4 year olds I teach sometimes!!

Haha, I work with kids too, so I can totally relate. It's good to hear that she's improving.
