The older members will remember that Iāve wanted a macaw for a long time. I almost adopted a blue and gold around 4 years ago but the second he met my mother he was obviously my mothers bird. Then, I almost adopted a scarlet a little over a year ago but that didnāt work out in the end.
Iāve fallen in love with Titan a blue and gold at the shelter. Tomorrow he arrives for a week trial run! We made the trip down to Abba today to get a new cage, perches and toys for him. Iām soooo excited that he is finally going to be here tomorrow. He is a very big personality macaw. He met my mother and Byron and tolerated them better than I thought he would. He tends to be very pushy and when he doesnāt like you you definitely know it. He is actually a transfer from another shelter where he was too aggressive for them to handle. He is more a give him an inch bird and he will walk all over you. But he lets me do anything to him. From trimming his nails while we sit at the table, pulling his wings out, grabbing him and flipping him over, holding him like a baby...you name it he lets me do it. His funniest trait is that he loves to stick his tongue out at people. The next in line is that he laughs at people when they fall or trip lol
Meet Titan! (Also his name is perfect for him:54
The new setup we just put together tonight.
