Green cheek conure - Sydney (Syd) Hatched 2/2017
At a loss yesterday when Syd was being a bit of a pain I started to sing nursery rhymes as I would to a small child!

The impact was instantaneous. He sat in the palm of my hand his head cocked gazing at my face. When I stopped he started to wriggle and nibble until I started again when once more he was completely still and riveted to my face.
Just now I experimented again with exactly the same reaction. It seems we have a new source of interaction.

Now once upon a time I would have classed myself with a fairly decent voice but those days are gone now but here I am with an attentive audience once more. Maybe my time has finally come!

My macaws all settle down and start the macaw bob when I start singing. I have one that it sounds like he is trying to sing with me.
They get a lot of nursery rhymes and hymns.

Rio was exactly the same. I play guitar and if I'm in a good mood would sing along. Johnny cash songs got the most interest from the fruit salad

yep if I whistle a tune or sing, it's completely different then the computer or radio, clark perks up and chirps along.
