I went and checked out the Rocky Mountain Society of Aviculture Expo yesterday and had a great time. There was a large variety of different birds to see and lots of great toys and other supplies. I took some pictures and thought I would share them with you all. The last few pictures are of me holding a severe macaw and a beautiful yellow naped amazon.

Wow , how could you leave without the nape?

Can you name all the species you took photos of??? :D

Looks like it was a great event!!!! Wish our area had an expo this year! It's been so bad for the past few years that we've had to occasionally cancel the expo.... and it's only once a year... :(

Oh trust me, if I had the money and space for a larger bird, I might have considered bringing her home. She was such a sweet bird!

Here is a list of all the species:
Photo 1: Hyacinth macaw
2: Greenwing macaw
3: Blue throated macaw (left) and Blue and gold macaw (right)
4: Parrotlet
5: Amazon (can't remember which subspecies)
6: Major Mitchell's cockatoo
7: Hyacinth macaws
8: Severe macaw
9 and 10: Yellow naped amazon

There were also lots of other birds that I didn't take photos of. Some of the other species I saw include African greys, LOTS of conures, lovebirds, caiques, cockatoos, a Derbyan parakeet, eclectus, poicephalus, finches, canaries, and doves.

That's amazing!! i would love to go to an expo like that, i went to the bird show a few months ago and there were only the smaller birds, and only 1 macaw! :(

I would of just stared at the Hyacinths all day ;) hehe

The other zon appears to be a nape also. We have a show near here this weekend, maybe 100+ species.

Yeah we had a total if three napes there... (the photo is of Selena). The Major Mitchell and the nape both sold. We never sold the severe (which suprised me because she's super sweet...)

I remember you... good to put a face to a name :D

No, I met futuredvm... i haven't yet had the pleasure to meet henpecked in person.... someday I'm sure.

The greenwing caged in the background of the major Mitchel is my personal pet... I had to bring her along or she would have driven my husband nuts...lol

Oh that's awesome! I didn't make the connection, but it was very nice to meet you! I agree, the severe was very sweet. You guys had lots of great birds there!

I'm glad to hear you sold the Major Mitchell. My friend, who was originally going to come with me to the expo, absolutely LOVES Major Mitchells. I sent her the picture I took and she asked me if I would bring the bird home for her....Lol.

I'm the 33 year old freckked redhead.

No, she doesn't live in a cage at home. She's only in that cage there because after 2 days out she got tired of being bothered. All cages and supplies are cleaned after a bird show and the reloaded onto the enclosed trailer assembled.... super easy :D
