He likes to pretend he hates being caught. But as you can see he could easily leave my daughters hands, but chooses to hang out and cuddle.

How precious!! Zeki cuddles! :D I just LOVE that guy. His plumage is pretty too, a little iridescent.

Zeki is absolutely stunning! He glows!
Looks like such a sweetheart, too, now I am so jealous:)

Ah he's sweet and so pretty. What do you feed Zeki?
We used to see lots of these here but not so now unfortunately. A long time ago at our other house we had one come down the chimney, when I arrived home from work I was puzzled to find bird poop around the room? Looked around and there sat on our wedding photo was a starling - almost frightened the life out of me lol.

Haha! ...and that was BEFORE you were a bird person? :D!

There is not a perfect food on market for starlings. We grind cat food, a little chicken layer food, a little powdered egg and a little dried fruit together for him. That makes up is his main food that stays in his bowl all the time.

He also gets insects, fruit, meat and sprouts as snacks. Then whatever else he steals from us and the other birds too. He sometimes snacks on their chop and the smaller sized pellets.

I've been breeding these for years on my back porch and didn't know it. :p They do not look that cute when they are coming out of my grill.

LOL here in the states they are considered an "invasive species". which of course he's rather invasive in my home as well, being that he doesn't believe anyone should be doing anything unless he's involved.

Beautiful photos! Wow, he has some colors I have never been close enough to a starling to see. Handsome, handsome boy!

Even tho Starlings, like English Sparrows, are generally considered pests, the certainly are gorgeous..when the sun light hits them..purples and blues..awesome! Zeki is a doll!

Just out of interest does he nip/bite at all? I am thinking not too bad if Zeki does, as the beak is a different shape and probably doesn't have the power like a parrot's beak?
