Hey guys well my birds get fed versele-laga nutribird pellets anyway ran out few weeks ago as my delivery was late. I'm having problems getting them bck on them. I've tried giving them bowl but they are picking at them like treats one or 2 here and there. I've started mixing it with the other parrot mix they were on. Like the parrot book says but when do that they are eating the other stuff not the pellets. Will I stick to this for month make the switch like parrot book for dummies says? They are expensive pellets so don't want waste it all.

Thanks for reading typing this on my phone so forgive any typing errors

I never mixed pellets with any other food because as you said the birds will only pick out what they want and throw the rest out of the cage or bowl.

Yea that's what I was wandering what do u think I should do

I did the mix, I did 75% seeds and 25% pellets to begin with, then a day later 50/50, then 25/75 IF I see my birds eating pellets multiple at a time during any ratio, I remove the seeds out 100% My partner didn't want to waste the parrot seeds one day and decided to be smart and give my too seeds after I already convert her to pellets. Go figure she didn't want pellets, took me another week to switch her back, she's stubborn....Just be patient changing him back to pellets. You know what I do to never run out of Pellets? I keep a extra bag on hand. I order before I even open that bag.

Yea I had them ordered and they came 3 weeks late so I've 2 bags sitting here so don't run out again

Some pellets will deteriorate in nutritional content of not ref. or kept in the freezer. This would be Harrisons. I would call the manufacturer and find out what the proper storage is for this pellets.
