Well some moron has this bird posted on CL stating it is an amazon
Amazon parrot
I'm almost positive it is an Alexandrine parrot..
I feel the need to get this bird out of the current situation asap
if they don't even know what kind it is how the heck would they know how to take care of it either...so annoyed right now
but I already have 3 birds and don't think the hubby would allow any more...so how hard are they to take care of and do you think it would be hard to find it a new home?

Yeah maybe that's why the parrot's name is ALEX??!! LOL

LOL definitely an alexandrine. Named Alex. Wow.

Where's betrisher? She's got a couple Alex's I believe- seems they are always doing something mischievous.

We both live in nashville... but I haven't had a chance to talk to him yet...I sent a email to the owner asking a few questions about the bird

I say go for it if you can take in another bird, even if it's for a short period of time- essentially fostering until you find Alex a good home :)

Awwww! ParkersMom, get the little Alex! She's gorgeous! And you won't be sorry 'cause Alexes are a hoot: they're so inquisitive and want to share every moment of your day. I'd offer to get her myself, but the Specific Ocean is in the way...

not yet I asked the age, what they fed her, if it is indeed a girl, how big the cage is, and if the bird has ever seen a vet
Just got a response from them All it says is that It is the son and he can't answer any of the questions I asked

It is great what you are doing for him. Hope the husband gives it the green light! Lets hope nothing unfortunate happened to the son leaving the parents to rehome his bird (that they might truly know nothing about). You can never be sure of the actual situation until you go and see. Hopefully he has been well cared for :)
