So I responded to an add for macaws being sold. The man rehoming them is 83 and wants to down size, he has a 3 greenwings(a breeding pair, and one of their older babies). He also has a 10 year old b&g, and a 33 year old cag. I was just asking how much he was asking for the one greenwing and b&g out of curiousity(I am not ready for a macaw yet). I also asked him if he needed any help with his birds and now I am going to be helping him with his birds, just doing some feeding and other little things for them.

Anyways Im just really excited lol, I get to have some hands on experience with Greenwings!!! He is also expecting some eggs from his Greenwing pair.
Just wanted to let you guys know since not many people close to me are bird crazy.

Dang! i would love one of those haha! lucky for you! i've been looking for any rescues or anything so i could get experience but i can't find anything! haha

Thats really awesome. I wish everyone could get some hands on experiance with parrots before they got them! You'll be even more prepared when you're ready to get one yourself.

I'm so excited, while I was talking to him on the phone one screamed pretty loud all I could do was smile lol.

He also said if the GW pair have fertile eggs that he'll let me handle them aswell

I have mentored several people into being bird lovers / bird people. You can read all you can, but the best experience is hands on with someone who knows. Good luck, and enjoy this opportunity.

Not only do you get the experience, but the older gentleman gets to keep his birds a bit longer. I'm sure they enrich his life.

It's good to because he has birds that are really friendly, ones that need some work and than the breeding pair which most likely will be pretty territorial. I'm just going to try and learn as much as possible.
