Forever in my heart. Sunny the Corella
My partner and I finally received our Australian permanent residency! We applied for it earlier in the year and itā€™s been a long, expensive and stressful process. But we can now officially stay in Australia forever.
Woohoo!!
Itā€™s been a massive decision, leaving behind our family and friends In the U.K. starting up a new life here in Aus, new jobs and new surroundings. But itā€™s what we wanted to do, it felt right.
Itā€™s much more affordable here to buy land and have the lifestyle we want, Itā€™s too expensive in the U.K. Itā€™s a long way off until we can afford to buy our first house but weā€™re excited about our future here :)

And this also means I can start thinking about a feathered friend some time soon..:03:

CONGRATS!!!!!!
I've many friends and family who went through the same stressful process - and the nerve-biting wait to hear back.

So happy for you guys :)

Oh CONGRATULATIONS Hannah and Hannah's Significant Other (it'd be handy to know a name ;) )!

Welcome to Oz! I think I can speak for everyone when I say your work ethic and responsibility are a credit to the UK and now to Australia. There's nothing wrong with blossoming here while your roots are firmly planted in home soil. I hope you both find everything you've dreamed of on our shores and wish you success and happiness in everything you undertake. :)

Ahem: I must add that I continue to pray for Sunny's return, just to put your mind at rest. But whether he returns or not, the good deed you did in saving him and allowing him to choose his own path remains as proof of your character and huge heart. We need more people like you! XX

From one British-born Aussie to another, congratulations and welcome aboard :)

Iā€™ve just noticed my last sentence made no sense!
Iā€™ve just edited to correct it, I forgot to put feathered friend which made it sound like I just wanted friends some time soon haha!

Awesome! For some reason I assumed you were Australian already--you have such an elaborate setup there!
That had to have been stressful. Congratulations!!!!

Thank you!
Weā€™re very fortunate that we are renting a cottage on our friends property on there horse sanctuary, which is 150 acres and in a beautiful area. So itā€™s sadly not our setup lol! But weā€™re very grateful to our friends to let us live on their doorstep until we get ourselves on our feet :)

Congratulations on the new Homeland...
I have heard it said; Home is where your Heart is...
We are so very happy for you and your official new Home...

Enjoy!

Congratulations!! How exciting for you and your partner! It sounds like the perfect decision for you, especially if it is more affordable to do so. Australia is a wonderful place, I would LOVE to go back!

Oh Hannah, I am so happy for you and your partner! What a gorgeous country to call home, the possibilities are endless given your love for wildlife.

The good news is you and family can visit, though it is an expensive and dreadfully long flight!!

Congratulations Hannah! Definitely some good news! I remember what a relief it was when I finally got my permanent residency standing here in Canada:)
I'm really happy for you both!

Congratulations, that is fantastic news! I vividly remember waiting for my permanent residency - immigration anywhere is quite the process to go through (Canada to USA in my case) :)

Welcome to the gods country, well, one thats on fire and is in severe drought, but still there are plenty of good birds about
Thanks

Thank you Bertrisher, youā€™re always so kind :)
We are looking forward to planting our roots in new soil here in Aus.

Thanks for your Sunny support. Itā€™s always welcome as I still miss him terribly. I must admit though... I know, deep down... my gut is telling me Sunny is no longer with us. I just know. It didnā€™t add up..
I will however continue to live in hope :07:

Thank you Scott! Yes, In fact Iā€™m going to try and make time soon to go for a nice bush walk with my camera and look for wildlife and birds :)

My parents visited a couple of months ago which was awesome! And they will be saving to come out again in a couple of years. And I have a few uncles in Australia that I will continue to visit next year.
The flight is long.. but itā€™s only a plane ride away so will return to the UK to visit family as much as my funds will allow me
