hey guys.

so i've always gotten my birds toys but they are mostly shreddable toys or
wooden so they can chew on them a lot. they also love playing with random
things like water bottles, tissue, etc. i recently got a kitten and bought her
a few cotton toys for her to play with but i noticed klaus gliding next to her
a lot (he likes her!) and wanting to play with them too. i've seen birds
around with toys like that but i never really thought of it.

i was thinking of getting klaus his own toys like that but is there a certain
type of material used in these toys that's bad for birds that i'd need to
watch out for or something?

etc.

(they are mostly cotton, i guess)

I would maybe only use them under supervision. Birds can get tangled/strangled in loose threads, but if you are there to supervise, it should be fine.

They might make bird-safe stuffed animals, but I don't know for sure. :)

I don't for sure either, but cats and dogs chew on them, so they must not be actually toxic. And small children can chew on theirs as well. I would just supervise as Remy suggested. And be careful of either the bird or the cat deciding it is theirs and defending it. My cat tried to get some blocks of wood my Grey was playing with a couple of weeks ago, and the Grey got angry and growled at her.

I have a piece of fleece that remington loves to snuggle up with, the ends are cut into 1" wide strips, it is a square shape and hangs from the middle of the square

I had an old Grey that had been given a small piece of blanket which he loved. He'd snuggle in it, chew it, and toss it around. Just be careful of loose threads and tears in cloth things.
