yeaaaaa I got the kit and 2 blue socks tonight and I put one on him boy was that hard and he has shredded it a lot am hoping it lasts a few days until my order for socks come in . so I can use the other sock as a pattern to make more socks , hope I got the right socks heres what I ordered [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Fuzzy-Socks-Solid-Colors-Pairs/dp/B002X8FSK4/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1382063161&sr=8-3&keywords=microfiber+socks+for+women"]Amazon.com: Fuzzy Socks Solid Colors - 12 Pairs, Size: 9-11: Clothing[/ame]

The only thing I would have recommended was to try and keep the socks the same colors...as close to his feather colors as possible.....For my Grey I had them either white or blue/grey. And the woman I bought the initial socks from offered to sell me more uncut, which was awesome!!!

Rockysmom- you ask for pics for before and after Buddy Sock...Pay attention to the date on the pics to show how long it took....The first one was taken 4/1/12

wow he is beautiful , what an awesome recovery he made in 4 months right? that the colors they had so I just ordered them , am going to email Suzanne and get some from her to and find out what her prices are probably 4 or 5 pairs so I have some back up socks and a pattern to use, Smokey has his first sock in shambles lol not to much left of it

I really need to figure out what size to get a lovebird. I took Nips to walmart with me to try and see which size would work, but she kept fluttering around and squeaking. I got a pair that were huge on her. And I have to figure out how to put it on her, because unlike and AG I can't hold her beak and pull it on her.

Thank you! Took 3 months from 4/1/12 to 7/2/12. I will take a picture tomorrow of her showing her belly 1 year later.

For a Lovebird, you need a baby sock. If you contact Suzanne at the BuddySock, I'm sure she can tell you what to get to fit her.

Yes I bought a LOT OF socks LOL, but it was well worth it.

I'll have to do that again, but I want to find a way to put it on her. Without her scaring me, I almost got it on the 2nd time I tried the sockbuddy. But because she forgets how to function once I get one leg and wing through, she will fall off my bed. And I have her in the middle of the bed, but it scares me if I force it she does a pain filled squeak and if I slip it on slowly she'll bite. I even tried to cover her head with a towel.

I saw a video on YouTube of a bloke who put the cut-off toe of the sock on his bird's head. The bird didn't like it, but was so concentrated on getting his 'hat' off that the owner easily put the rest of the sock on the bird. It worked so well, I'm thinking of having a go myself!

I did a YouTube search on 'How to put a sock on a bird' and it was the first or second one that popped up. The bird was an Eclectus.

Iseen that video and I have a piece cut off to use on Smokey in fact Iused it tonight but he managed to get it off his head a few times

This is taken today 10/18/13, little over 1 year after the Sock Buddy. She is still barbering her feathers a tad, but is doing MUCH better!!! And I still have socks, so if needed, she will wear it again.....It has been working so well for her! What a difference from that first picture!!!
