So today I decided to try and do an oil pastel drawing of my dear Alex (My Alexandrine).

This is how it turned out.
This is actually my 3rd try using pastel's. I haven't tried to draw a bird since I was like in primary school (not sure what you guys call it, maybe elementary?) . Haha, I was thinking that it wouldn't turn out any good.

Anyway im a very MESSY artist.

Omg, that's beautiful!! You have a real talent! I wouldn't be surprised if you could find people that would pay you to do portraits of their birds. Now go get that in a frame so you can show it off!

I still need a lot to work on. (From my eye's I can see what went wrong).

I would love to do portrait's of people's birds. But there really aren't many where I live that would want one.

I would buy a frame, but I have no money.
Is a very poor student.

Anyway I just wanted to share with all you bird lover's.

I would also love to try and draw some of your guy's birds. Just to try out drawing different specie's of birds.

It's pretty good. Feathers are quite hard to draw too and you have done them really well. I am horrendously hard on my own drawings. I am never 100% happy with them and pick them to pieces. When I have some time to myself I'll try painting a portrait one of my fids and post it up. We can compare notes.

If you were in the UK, I'd ask you to do one of Merlin for me! It's not "perfect" but I think that's what I like out it, kinda a "rough around the edges" kinda thing. It's wonderful, well done!

Ooh lovely! Well done. I'd pay for a drawing of Tate, but we'd have to keep it from my boyfriend who is an artist and who may get jealous that I didn't ask him ; )

We are all our own worst critics though, and I'm the same way. I turn into a perfectionist when it comes to my art, songs or work on my house. We probably all should treat ourselves better than we do! We would never criticize the heck out of other people (ok, some people do, and we all know some!)

I think it turned out wonderful, Ash! Do what you can to keep it nice until you can afford the frame.
