I am so excited, I could run up and down the street and pound on the neighbors doors and tell them! however, I know that it would take a bird person to understand LOL

Today is one week that we brought Pippin home. This morning, she was sitting on her heated perch grooming herself! I've only seen her put one foot on it once before.

And!?!?!? she's using her foraging wheel for the first time!!! AND!?!?!?!?! she ACTUALLY EATING THE STUFF INSIDE!!!!!!!!! she's eating nutriberries, and Fresh Baked Bites!!!!! (and of course the peanuts and other junk I used to entice her, but ya know... She even took a Fresh Baked Bite from my hand!!!!

Last night she let me touch her head, and this morning she was giving me kisses over and over and over. :bigkiss:

Just last night I was out with my husband, and he said "do you like your bird?" I said I lover her, but I'm hoping we can do right by her. We kinda just adopted another child. In some ways it's more commitment than a child, but at least I CAN leave her in her cage by herself when I need to go to the store or something.

Anyway, just as I was starting to get that sinking feeling of "oh, what did we just do?" she completely amazes me. My heart skips a beat every time I think of how far she has come in just a week, and how much potential she has.

Even if she does ring her dinner bell every time I take her bowl, until I bring it back. lol

Hahaha, I'm glad you were able to refrain from running down the street knocking on doors, unless you have very tolerant neighbors, I'm not sure they'd be as excited for you as our forum members are.

I can tell how happy you are! It's contagious, thanks for sharing, I love success stories. You're making wonderful progress with Pippin. Beautiful beginning to a long time companionship.

That sinking feeling of, "Oh, what did we just do?", tells me you are doing everything right. Keep having fun and enjoy the journey!

Welcome to the club!

Don't annoy your neighbors. Trust me, they'll look at you funny... (Don't ask me how I know that!) That's what we're here for...

Aww, that's heartwarming. I'm just a mush for happy Grey endings (any really, but I'm especially tender-hearted for Greys, who seem to feel things so very deeply). I'm so very happy for this one.

And, I have one of those bell-ringer Greys, too. He ADORES that freakin' bell! Sometimes I have to take it away from him because I just can't stand it anymore. He sometimes will ring that for 8 hours straight.

Oh my. Let's not give Pippi any ideas! thankfully, it's just when I take her bowls out, lol Our conure loves bells too, but I leave the big tube bell on his play stand, and the smaller jingle bell types for inside the cage. Keeps the loud clanging to several hours a day instead of all day LOL

I realized that I called her Pippin in my original post, he name was pippin in her last home, but she's a confirmed girl, so we are trying to go with Pippi instead, a little more "long-stocking" and a little less "Hobbit" haha. So if I flip flop back and forth, that's why LOL
