I am so excited, I could run up and down the street and pound on the neighbors doors and tell them! however, I know that it would take a bird person to understand LOL
Today is one week that we brought Pippin home. This morning, she was sitting on her heated perch grooming herself! I've only seen her put one foot on it once before.
And!?!?!? she's using her foraging wheel for the first time!!! AND!?!?!?!?! she ACTUALLY EATING THE STUFF INSIDE!!!!!!!!! she's eating nutriberries, and Fresh Baked Bites!!!!! (and of course the peanuts and other junk I used to entice her, but ya know... She even took a Fresh Baked Bite from my hand!!!!
Last night she let me touch her head, and this morning she was giving me kisses over and over and over. :bigkiss:
Just last night I was out with my husband, and he said "do you like your bird?" I said I lover her, but I'm hoping we can do right by her. We kinda just adopted another child. In some ways it's more commitment than a child, but at least I CAN leave her in her cage by herself when I need to go to the store or something.
Anyway, just as I was starting to get that sinking feeling of "oh, what did we just do?" she completely amazes me. My heart skips a beat every time I think of how far she has come in just a week, and how much potential she has.
Even if she does ring her dinner bell every time I take her bowl, until I bring it back. lol
