1 BFA- Kiwi. Hatch circa 98', forever home with us Dec. 08'
So when I say Kiwi likes to hang out near me and I hand him a little toy and he merrily plays while I do whatever, this is the kind of adorableness I have to 'endure' :) This was yesterday while I was on the floor organizing his stuff, but he's always this super cute when he's happy and playful:D It takes *so much* self control not to grab and love on him (which he would not like at all):09:

Hey there Mommy, whatcha doin' down there on the floor?

Ooooo, you've put a little toy on my stand, don't mind if I do:

This is a *great* toy, I shall play with it from all different angles:

"The perfect parrot"- occupied, quiet, adorable and content:

The toy was really really exciting. Someone is all tuckered out:

Omg. I'm right up there with you for wanting to just grab him and love him! Kiwi looks SO CUTE in all of those pictures!

Aw Kiwi :) the last pic is funny... He's exhausted from all the new toy excitement!

It's hard not to just grab, squeeze, and cuddle the crap out of our cuties isn't it! Raven is also like that. He generally doesn't like to be touched, so I have to restrain. I have Robin for cuddles :)

Kiwi is so adorable:) And April, his feathers are just glowing with health!

That last photo is precious. :)

He totally takes the cutest naps ever! He becomes a big ball of fluff. Such a funny little creature. He doesn't want me to touch him, but he sure always wants to be as close as possible and wants to 'imitate' me. When I'm doing something, he wants to be doing something. When I'm relaxing, he relaxes. If I leave his sight, he calls out and when I call back he quiets down (he just wants to know where I went). He is *so* well behaved, calm and quiet for me (when my husband is home, on the hand... well, boys are always louder, messier, more misbehaved;)). Still, I look at Kiwi and can't believe this bird passed through 2 homes. He is a smart and inquisitive little bird who probably didn't need NEARLY as much work to get to this point in his first 2 homes. Just baffles me how no one else recognized it.

Many people just want instant (or easy) gratification, and I don't think they even think twice what needs to be done or CAN be done to "fix" a problem. So much easier to 'throw it away' :(

Edit: I also meant to say that Kiwi sure won the jackpot (finally) after finding his way to your home :)

Aww, GREAT shots April, Kiwi looks SO HAPPY, Just Gorgeous !!

I LOVE the stand in the last picture, what is that?

Joe

I love Kiwi's tree too. All plastic, soooooo easy to clean:32: Actually it is a 'pet stockroom' play tower, but we've had it several years now and bought it on clearance then so I don't know if they're still available, but it's definitely too small for a macaw. Not to mention the branches are hollow plastic. Kiwi could actually rip it up if he wanted, but I think after the last time he chewed a branch right out from under himself (the ultimate fate of his last play tree), he learned his lesson and doesn't chew on his perches any more (not one iota of damage to this tree after several years of daily use).

I've seen a similar one around online that is macaw sized, but I don't know that it looks very fun for one. Do keep in mind though, you can change where the branches go on these, since they are attached to little "rings" that stack on a center pole. The macaw in the stock image looks wider than the branch, but heres the link-
