We hardly ever get snow in Johannesburg, in South Africa. Mainly in the Drakensburg area.

This is only the second time in my life experiencing snow

I was sitting in my office, at about 10am, on Wednesday, saw flakes and ran outside.

Soon everyone in our office block and the factory joined me outside

BOY DID WE HAVE FUN

Glad you enjoyed the snow! If you never get it I guess it would be fun. :)

Awesome pics :) It looks great:) Did you build a Snowman??

I wish we had Snow like that here in Devon... We tend to get a light flurry, then its gone :(

Wow so much snow!! Looks like fun! We just had a heap of snow here in Australia (nsw) too!

That's awesome, great pics too : )
We don't get snow to often here were we live either , maybe an inch or 2 each winter. we seem to get freezing rain and icy roads before we ever get snow .But a few years ago we had 12 inches of snow . It was really crazy...my kids had a blast in it and so did I ...lol

Did you take Mishka out to see the snow? when in Colorado I took my Senegal out and he was like "What ? who? why? Dad make it stop." so funny.

Unfortunately when I returned home, all the snow had already melted.
Today is a public holiday here (Woman's Day) AND our boss has given us Friday off....... YEAHHHHHHHHH
Tomorrow they have predicated more snow.
Taking Mishka to the vet, nails and wings to trimmed and clipped.
Hopefully I will be able to show him some snow.
Taking my camera with .....

I despise the snow. Where I'm at it's either a little dusting, frozen rain, or a damn blizzard. The 2010-2011 winter season we got 3 blizzards within a 10 day period. Last season, 2011-2012, we got not one bit of snow not even a dusting.

I don't like the snow because I always worry about friends and family getting home safely. During 2 of the 3 blizzards we had my brother was working and got done work at 11pm. Both times he got stuck at the end of our street. Both times his employer REFUSED to allow the employees to leave early. He works at a grocery store. Honestly, who is driving out in this to get groceries? My father was working overnights at the time and would go in work at 10pm and not get off work until 7. It was scary knowing that he had to drive out in the terrible snow which always started late afternoon. I hated trying to sleep knowing that it was going to snow for another couple hours and he'd have to drive home in it. My household has only small cars. If he was driving a bigger vehicle with all-wheel drive. I may have felt better. I'm a bit of a worrier.

When I was a kid I LOVED the snow. I didn't worry about anything then. Now that I've driven in my fair share of nasty snow storms I worry too much.

This was the 2nd of the 3 storms we had. This is after we pushed my brother out from the end of the street. He got stuck again trying to turn into the driveway to get out of our next door neighbor's way. Our neighbor was nice enough to help push him into the driveway. My ex is the one wearing shorts (YES SHORTS) and snow blowing my brother's parking spot. We had originally gone outside to clear up the foot of snow that fallen because we knew my dad would be coming home in 7 hours and would never get up the driveway if we didn't start cleaning it. (I recorded multiple videos to send to my family in Texas who got a dusting like 2 weeks before this and were excited for it. I told them they could have our snow. That goes for you too Antoinette, you can have this snow :p)

Arghhh I never get any snow where I live. :( I have still yet to see some snowflakes... Here you can't get a day without some sun, especially in summer. The coldest precipitation I've ever seen is rain. ;)

Man, CustomCasket... We should switch locations...

No thanks.......... what we had was just enough and enjoyable. :D
I do realize the dangers, when snow has fallen.
Came across 4 car accidents on my way home from work. Was worried about my son Steven, driving to Uni, then 40km further for cricket coaching.
In the Drakensburg, friends of ours were stuck in their car for 3 days, no food, water or any warm clothes.

The snow is great for about 15 minutes and then you realize you'll have to go outside at some point to clean it up. When nobody has to go anywhere we sit at our front door and watch people go down the main road our neighborhood is off of. The speed limit is 35mph and people like to speed, especially in the rain and snow when they shouldn't. It's a game we play predicting who will spin out. I guess we're just a sick family...

Well, blizzard are horrible. Antoinette's snow is very enjoyable. ;) I do realize how dangerous it is on the road... I just want a little snow. I'll pass too Custom Casket...

You sure? I'll send some your way once winter hits. We normally start getting snow after Christmas at the beginning of the New Year. It'll be a few more months until I can send you some...

Well, you can't send snow! Lol just kidding. :p I feel sorry for you... :( You hate snow and you have to spend so much time worrying about getting stuck in it... I guess I would be the same; worrying 'bout everything.... It's just that I hate heat so bad. And I'm stuck in the one place where the lowest you get in winter is about 70-75*. -.- And in summer it can get up to 110*, usually 97-103* most days...

Our summers are that hot for the most part. It's always very humid here. It's about 90 degrees outside right now. That's on the low side for what we've had this summer. We've had some nasty thunderstorms in the last couple weeks which has been the only rain we've gotten. Everything is brown and drying up. I'd love it if the weather could be 65-75ish all the time with a nice breeze. That's my ideal weather. Oh, no humidity. I don't like the humidity.
