Perjo - Female CAG hatch Nov 2015
Perjo is a couple days from turning a 1 yo, and since about June I've been opening the door to her cage four an hour or two and letting her decide what she wants to do. She goes back in forth and is totally comfortable inside or out, with a once or twice a week unscheduled flight across the room, but she is pretty good at landing now.

Anyway, she is close to a sofa and can reach it from the outside of her cage, so she'll grab hold of the towel on the sofa arm and climb up, and play or sit or whatever. But she does this without making a peep, and if I don't see her do it, I don't know she is there. Today she made it from the sofa to the ground and was standing 4 feet from me before I noticed her.

I couldn't help but chuckle and say "you sneaky little smart ass", but soon realized how dangerous it is, as she could be right next to me and one wrong step.

Anyone else have a sneaky quiet little Fid? Usually she makes enough noise (a noisy CAG is a happy CAG) that I always know where she is or if she is not where she should be, but she's become as quiet as a Ninja.

Well, well, well. It's always nice to find that the Mrs.'s bird does something constructive. He is always loud. We always know where he is. Sneaky? I'm sure he'd like to be if it got him any advantage, but no, not sneaky.

Oh yes!! BB is a sneaky one! He can be out of his house while I am doing his chores..cleaning his house..feeding him..and then I hear a little flapflapflap..ok..he took off some where, but where?? "Ohh BB...where are you? Where'd you go little boy" NOT A WORD OR PEEP out of him!

Now I'M nervous! where'd that little boy go?? I'm watching every step I take! Only to look at the top of the couch,to find him just sitting there, looking at me! BRAT!

Oh yes. It's a very African grey way of doing things. All of my greys have been sneaky. Nigel acts like an angel when you're with him but there are times he lets his inner devil out and sneaks around on a reconnaissance mission to see what he can destroy or poo on. I'm careful to not leave him in a dangerous situation while cage open. I shut doors and keep my eyes peeled. The grey dinosaur is liable to come out any time.

So far Buzz hasn't caught on to sneaking up on us, he can't help but announce his presence. But If it does get quiet while he's out it usually means something is being destroyed! Right now plucking rugs is his favorite destruction.

Rugs are large parrot toys. I have a woven rug in the sitting room which Nigel is unweaving. Nah, don't like the rug too much anyway...

My darling is not in the LEAST sneaky. In fact, when he has evil intent, he is likely to give himself away by yelling "NO!" before committing his crime. As Mr. Rival said above, we ALWAYS know where he is, because his flight is noisy and his singing/screaming/beak-clicking is pretty constant. That's my boy.
