So earlier I was reading on the couch earlier, headphones in and caught up in what I was doing. Little did I know what was lurking....:green::eek::rolleyes:

I looked up and...BLUE FRONT! AGgghhh! Little craphead had snuck up on me. Not being aggressive, just coming over to say hello and hang out. Now for those who are like WTF is note worthy about this, Kiwi flies about as well as I do, which is not at all. He doesn't just "show up" on the couch next to me, as he has no way to get on the couch from his designated areas. But! I have been building my little buddy a new play area by the window after decommissioning the old one after becoming a rickety piece of ****. In order to protect the top of the end table, I put 2 large tiles on it which make the whole top area bigger as they overhand by a couple inches so he can't chew the end table. Guess he can reach the couch from there. First thing tommorow after I clean it for the morning, I'll be moving it few inches over!

OMG- while writing this post, he's back! Preening and making little happy noises! Lol. SO cute but definitely not going to encourage him getting on the furniture without permission/close supervision. Rules exist for a reason and he has his own "bird furniture" for a reason too...Still, sooooooo cute:07:

Its that Amazon wanting to be close to his family members thing.:D

At least when they fly, you can hear them coming in and feel the extensive air movement during landing.

Nothing more exciting than finding your Amazon, when not expecting him!

Awwwww all he wants to do is be with you! So sweet! How can you deny him?

Awww so sweet. :) Alex tries to be sneaky sometimes, too and is just frigging awful at it. Birds are such funny and sweet little people.

He does love hanging around us. Doesn't want to be petted, but definitely likes to be friendly in his own way:)

Oh, and more like- nothing more surprising than being snuck up on by a small velociraptor when not expecting him! :D

Trust me, it is soooo hard not to encourage that kind of adorable behavior, but it is for his own good that we have rules for him to follow. He is actually on the couch quite frequently hanging out with us, which is fine when we put him there and are keeping an eye on him. He's just not suppose to get on the furniture or stray from his designated areas by himself (and he knows this). It's a rule strictly enforced for his own safety and so he can have a great amount of continuing freedom during the day:)

My sweet little buddy is so cute. I moved the whole gym a few inches over, out of reach of the couch for him. After about 10 minutes of trying to figure out why he could get on the couch one day and not the next, he gave up and went back to his toys. That was the morning after I made this post.

BUT, last night he came over and sat right next to us and was making these adorable soft little chirps he makes sometimes (seriously, chirps, out of a 420 gram amazon) with his little foot in the air asking to come over. Of course he was allowed and was so happy to hang next to us on the couch for a while and just be a sweet and puffy little guy:) Hopefully it's resolved in his little mind that he simply needs to "ask" nicely before coming on the couch.
