So my roommates smoke three of them but its a pretty big house three floors I'm on the third if I have the bird in my room will their foul cigarette smoke harm him? Please let me know if so I probably won't be getting the bird I couldn't see getting a pet and bringing him into such circumstances that's just cruel also as far as me using colognes ? Air fresher or those little burning sticks ?

Smoking in the birds air space will harm it, If the smoke does not come into the room it should be ok.
Cologne, air fresheners and inscence sticks are also going to do harm to the bird.
So will teflon and non stick cookware, there's a lot to learn about keeping their environment healthy. Do the research and see if it's something you want to do.

It's crazy like I have a bird kind of at my girls lol I bought him but its hers a hahns macaw so I know a little bit never had to worry about smoke because I don't smoke and I guess I'll have to keep him in my room I hate smoking with a passion it's inconsiderate (passive smoke)

I'm an avid smoker....I do not smoke indoors as I have kids, my parrot & 2 dogs. Along with getting an air purifier perhaps you could request that they smoke in their specific bedrooms with the door closed or ask them nicely to smoke outside. I always try to be a considerate smoker & always ask those around me prior to lighting up.

Any kind of smoke (be it from a cigarette, fireplace, incense, candles ect....) can be damaging to a parrots very delicate lungs. Anything unnatural with a strong odor (perfume, cologne, air freshener, chemical cleaners ect...), as well as using Teflon cookware (releases odorless, but very toxic fumes) are also a no-no with parrots. I just can't see how bringing a parrot into a home with 3 "indoors" smokers plus whatever sprays and stuff are used to cover the smell would be a good idea. Even the best air purifier on the planet isn't going to be able to remove everything toxic to birds going on in this house.

Another thing I see that suggests you may not be at a point in your life where a parrot is right for you is the fact it would live in your bedroom and not have access to the rest of the house. Parrots of all sizes (even small ones) need 4-6 hours a day outside their cage, and being confined to a bedroom during playtime isn't going to be very mentally stimulating for the bird. Considering the bird needs a good chunk of time with you each day, how will your roommates feel when your holed up in your room with the bird (considering it can't go into the rest of the house)? Depending on the size of bird, you likely won't be willing to give up your limited space for a appropriate sized cage either. A parakeet/cocktail sized cage would fit in most rooms, but a cage for medium-large parrots might as well be like adding a second bed to your room plus storage for supplies. Do you have that kind of space? What about when the bird gets noisy and wakes up the house at 5am? How do your roommates feel about that? If I were you, I would hold off on any type of pet until I had my own place. By all means, continue researching breeds of birds you may be interested in owning one day, and perhaps you could even volunteer at a local avian shelter to gain experience with parrots and give some deserving birds much needed love and affection without taking on the responsibility of having one at home.

My Eclectus came from a home where the owner smoked. He died of a heart attack (go figure) Duhhhhhhh. But the bird picked up this nasty smokers cough like he's trying to hack up a lung. He did it all the time when I first got him, but now only a few times every so often. There was no doubt he smoked around the bird because his cage was in the guys office.
