Soo...the question!
: My two peach faced lovebirds :green1::orange: have now 5 eggs!
And i have studied a lot of sites for breeding information and lovebird behavioral in all. So i know that HE should go to the nest and feed her HER sometimes. I'v seen him doing this BUT only for the first days. Now atleast when i am home and see them. SHE gets out of the nest and quickly eat some food herself before quickly returning to the nest.
I have not red about this behavioral!!
So is it normal?!

And why i finaly agreed with myself about making this post (lol) was because i saw that SHE was actually feeding HIM!! never happened under the breeding before though....
its all strange....
AND YES: She is a SHE and he is a HE!
i dont know if this have anything to do with it but when SHE comes up to eat(not offen) HE goes away from the food. If he doesnt: SHE is going to put HIM away from the food. So now he learned that and always making room for her.
Hmmm... Why is SHE going up to eat, SHE should be with the eggs, right!?!

It is very normal. As she gets more comfortable with having the eggs she is feeling safe enough to go out and eat for a short time. This especially occurs if daddy is not feeding her enough. She also is in nesting mode so she feels attentive to the male and feeds him. Hopefully, when he hears the babies chirping he will get on the ball and be a bit more aggressive with helping to feed momma and babes.

O THANKS!!
A realy good and straight on anwer from someone who knows! :)
Like a reply i want to say that: YES he is a bit to "un-dominant" if i know it right and i think that my problems with aggresive behaviour from HER is just beacouse of that.
THANKS!

it all sounds pretty normal to me, I would imagine that SHE is eating herself since HE wont feed her, otherwise SHE would starve.........lets hope if the eggs hatch HE becomes a better spouse and father. ;)
