So a newbie lesson for me is:

Get your parrot back in her cage in the evening before she falls asleep outside it. This happened to me last night, she was being sweet and cosy on a perch in the kitchen and fell asleep. I realised she would not be so sweet if I disturbed her to move her to her cage for the night.

I tried to wake her a little and lure her with a pine nut to step up. She stepped up on my hand with a "you are pissing me off" look, bit me hard and took her pine nut. It all happened so fast. She then grudgingly let me carry her to the cage and got in, no protests.
I now have a bandaid...

It's all about being proactive I guess. After 6 p.m. I need to have her at least near her cage instead of in another part of the house.

She is training you so very well! :D

Yaaa, sleeping /napping /daydreaming Amazons - one needs to have their full attention prior to requisition a Step-Up!

There is that 'Old Saying:" Let a Sleeping Dog Lay! It's application is wide and includes Parrots.
