Hello again! Here I am once more asking for some advice on my sun conure. I am just trying to figure out his behaviors!
So this morning I did not hear him doing his normal screaming for me to come and wake him up. I heard some noises but not the normal screeching. When I lifted the blanket off the cage he was at the bottom of it, which sometimes he does because he thinks he can see at the bottom. As soon as I saw him he climbed back up on his perch and let me hold him. Every morning I hold him and he sings and chirps. But this morning he didn't want to sing he wanted to snuggle up to me and sleep. He was very loving and looked like he was in love and so comfortable to sleep. So I held him for awhile and put him back in his cage so he can eat like he normally does. Well he doesn't want to eat. He wants to sit on his perch next to his toy and snuggle up to that and make love noises. Even the raisins are not tempting for him. Right now he is doing the same thing. I can hear him making his happy singing but its weird he doesn't want to eat. Could this be some sort of hormonal thing? And I honestly don't know if he is a boy or a girl.
And yes I know that birds can hide their illness well and most people would just take their bird in asap to the vet but I am not to that point yet. He is not throwing up and his dropping are normal. He gets at least 12 hours of sleep. He eats a combination of seeds and pellets even though he is drawn more to the seeds. He eats raisins every day as a treat.
Any thoughts? All my animals are acting kind of weird this morning. I know its almost a full moon but this is crazy!
