I have a RB2 and IRN. neither of which sleep in a sleeper cage. Is this recommended? I cover them in the living room at around 7:00 PM and uncover them around 6:45 AM. Neither make any noise except when I first cover them I hear them grinding their beaks.
I know that I am asking lots of questions. Just wanting what's best for my feather babies.:white1:

I've never bothered. Parrots are adaptable creatures and adapt well to life in our homes for the most part. My bird typically shows signs he's ready for bed around 8-8:30 and I just cover up his cage. The jungle isn't totally silent or light free at night, I see no need to make special accommodations so he can sleep in a dark/silent room. I guess I wouldn't throw a loud party after he's in bed, but normal conversation, tv etc... doesn't disturb his sleep a bit. If your birds have no trouble sleeping just being covered, I think a nighttime cage would just be a whole lot of hassle, training of a new routine, another cage to buy/clean, another step at night and in the morning...

Grinding of the beak is actually a sign they are content and your sleep/wake cycle sounds just fine:)

Thank you for the response. I know I have been posting a lot lately but just want what's best for my feather babies. They seem very content where they are.

My RB2 doesn't technically have a sleep cage but her main cage is basically just that because she is out of it all day. She has birdie bedtime at around 7:30 in her cage that's in our master bedroom. She comes out of the cage around 7:30am for the day. She prefers no cover and sleeps soundly all night.
