If abird hasanice big cage that it can fly around in during the day, is it okay to have a smaller cage for sleep? Like what's the fairest sleeping space?
I don't use a sleeping cage as my birds are all in a bird room, so get their sleep. The size of a sleep cage really depends on what kind of bird you have
I never used any sleeping cages, but my birds have a luxury flying around cage free most of the day. When I dim the lights in the evening they all go to their cages right away and get ready for sleep. I know it's controversial, but I always cover my birds at night, and I think it helps them a lot to get undisturbed sleep. So I'm not sure if you need a separate cage for sleep.
