Skinny Bird

Its seems that everything has been sorted since my conure went to the vets twice, once with low white blood cell, and then 3 weeks later decided to lay an egg, and due to the white blood cell and egg combination, we decided it best to see what was going on.

Everything is sorted now, however, the vet did mention that she was quite light. I can't remember specific weights or anything such as this. The bird then molted badly on her front (feathers coming back very quickly and nicely now, so nothing to worry about) but I could see that the birds bone on the front of her chest is visable.

Is this a problem? She has always been slightly thinner, and when I had two, the way I could distinguish between them was that she was always the smaller one, always has been.

Is it normal for some birds to simply be skinny? There is no problem with food intake, eating fine and everything. I was just wondering if some birds are naturally skinny?

What type of Conure is it? Green Cheeks should weigh between 60-80 grams. I weigh Maxx every month and he is always between 65g or 66g, so a bit on the small size.

You can get digital kitchen scales on eBay for less than $10.

It is normal for some birds to be skinny and it is normal to see their bones. Well, I can't see my birds' bones, but I can feel their breast plate ridge pretty easily. But whether your bird is normal/healthy, the vet would have to tell you. Pics would help, also.

Jenday conure. Not sure his weight (I will check the next time I get a chance) and he managed to put on 10 grams through his 'illness' which I thought was quite impressive.
