Blue & Gold Macaw [Maya] // Sun Conure Baby [Zippo] // 2 Lovebirds [Nibblet & Nellie]
I have an app to take my sun conure to the vet tomorrow. Wish me luck guys. He's acting very normal and playful, but i noticed he has some wet sneezes. He was sitting on my shoulder and sneezed and i started laughing cause it was like a wet sneeze went right in my ear. My laughing turned into freaking out because im like omgosh wet sneeze = sick. He is sneezing one wet-ish sneeze every 10 minutes or so. He is still on 3 feedings a day, and eating a little bit of soft fruit nd veggies, mostly crushing up pellets but eating a bit here and there.

I'm super worried. Wish me luck

Don't know about causes, but I hope he's ok!

Good luck,I hope your baby's ok!

I guess i have to take Maya my B&G and my Lovebirds.. They are sneezing now too. Guess i didn't quarantine fast enough. Im really freaking out now. The only place i went this weekend was the flea market. I didn't go into their bird store because they are disgusting. I mean they keep an umbrella in a 18x18 cage. its gross. I dont know where they could have gotten sick from. I'm so mad

Timothy, I feel for you. I really do. I laughed at the humor of how you wrote the post, but it's not funny, and I know how awfully worrisome this can be.

You did catch this right at the beginning, so that does help. I'm sure your babies will be fine with some treatment. Good luck and keep us posted.

Timothy, sending best wishes and healing thoughts your way...you caught it so quickly that I hope it is an easy fix. Thinking of you and your flock.

Don't worry, I'm sure everything will be okay!

I am just glad you know what to watch out for, and made the appointment right away. We were all hoping for the best, and awaiting an update!

Hope your flock recovers swiftly. Your quick reaction should prove very helpful!

just back from the vet. He is doing the blood work now. He threw in a free nails and beak grooming for them all for free. He said they look wonderful and we will get to the bottom of the sneezing right away. He is very comforting.

Sounding promising so far...hopefully you will hear back about the tests quickly to set your mind at ease:)
Are they still sneezing as much?

Sneezing is pretty much over except here and there. The doc said that the blood work looks great. he said my birds are extremely healthy and not lacking any nutrients!!

He said the sun has a minor respiratory infection and he prescribed Baytril. so i just picked it up. i have to mix it with his formula for the next 8 days. and i have to give it to the rest of my birds in their water for 10 days. He said they should be fine :) I caught it really early

Thanks for the happy thoughts guys

Whew! Great news!!!

One of my Goffins started sneezing (dry) a year ago and he was whisked to the vet ASAP. An organism was cultured (don't remember which nasty critter) and a course of antibiotics was completed. No contagion to the other 6 parrots in the room, and he recovered completely. Vet visits are costly, but the alternative can be far more dear.

Yeah, it cost me a good amount, but i get heavy discounts because i bring him a lot of business. they are great with birds. i trust them completely. they are SUPER fast over there.

No price is too great for my babies.
