Hi, My Senegal never speaks and only wolf whistles when your around, but we lie in bed early in the morning and hes talking and whistling and making all sorts off sounds till he hears us getting up and then he stops.
Anybody else got a shy bird and any idea how to bring him out?

:rainbow1: thanks

I think a lot of birds are like that. It helps to have a TV or radio noise going, that seems to help Wilson talk more in front of us.

Had my boy for 7 yrs before I heard him say a word and that because he didn't know I was there ; He talks to people when I'm not around if I'm there it's clicks and whistles guess he thinks it would be rude to speak cause daddy understands clicks and whistles it those strangers that need words.

Lots of parrots are "closet talkers," and will never utter a word when people are around, only speaking when they're alone. Sometimes, they like to practice words privately too until they're confident enough to say them in front of anyone. :)
