5 days ago we bought our First Green Cheek Conure, well I guess he's a Yellow Sided Green Cheek. His name is Franklin, hatched March 15th.

WE LOVE HIM! He's so fabulous! I took these pictures of him with my Sons, he was just having a blast.

He loves to snuggle and cuddle, he loves tunnels and burrowing in the blankets and when my boys are laying down, he loves running up their shirts and out through the neck hole! It's a total game for him. :D

Such a character!

He took NO time at all to adjust, he's very VERY social.

I'm told from a friend of mine who has a conure..."just wait" he'll become a turd...I just don't see it, but I realize he's just a baby and will become the dreaded "teenager."

Anyway, enough of my rambling, on to the pictures! Oh, and cause I didn't want them left out, a photo of our Tiel's...Chiquita and Chicken Little

Take care,

Toni

That is a beautiful ysgcc. I have five green cheeks, including a yellowsided, most of mine are over five years old and they have most definately NOT turned into "turds". I handraised all of them so that may make the difference, but IMO if you keep your bird socialized, allow plenty of out of cage time, lots of toys and stimulation, he will remain the sweet bird you have now. He truly is a gorgeous little guy.

I just lost a yellowsided I'd had for 10 years. She was so special and loved by everyone. Our vet used to love to see her come in as she was always so cooperative and fun. Her death (cancer), was a terrible blow to our family and I still miss her everyday. Have fun with your conure and if you are enjoying him, don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
