Shower Perch

Hello everyone,

My boyfriend and I are thinking of getting a Shower Perch.

We have a African Grey Congo, 3 years old.

We were wondering if this Shower Perch would be sufficent?

That looks like a suitable perch for your African Grey, I don't see any reason not to buy it. Only thing I would bother checking is the material the parrot would stand on.

I like the second one better - more suction cups. MAKE SURE the tiles under the cups are like crazy clean , any soap scum or dirt and the cups will not stay stuck and you bird ay get an unpleasant surprise.

Me I made one for about 10 bucks at Home Depot.

What Wrench and Jim said! Not sure if you saw my reply in the sticky. Just upgrade the size shown and add a few more suction cups! I wrapped min in sisal instead of tape.

I don't trust suction cups. Every one I ever had in the shower fell down eventually. You could pick up some Command Strips, the ones made for wet environments, to reinforce the attachment. Also, any kind of organic material will get mildewed in the shower - you might think about getting some self adhesive wrap for the perch that could be replaced often. I buy it by the box full on eBay for much cheaper than individual rolls.

I'd rather make it myself, that way you know exactly what goes into the item.
