Sherman, WCP, joined our flock about 6 months ago. She had been abused and neglected. She's making strides big time!
Today Sherman did two things that make me so proud. During cage cleaning today, she let me unhook a toy only a few inches away from her AND she sat on her swing with me in the room. That makes 3 toys including the swing.
Sherman's really having successes! I've been considering two things. First, know that 3 conures and 2 budgies are in a room together
All 3 conures are rehomes aged 19 months to 23 years. One budgie is a rescue and the youngest is a pet store baby. These are the 2 options on my mind:
1. Move Sherman into the "conure" area;
2. Move the conures and budgies into Sherman's room.
Both rooms are the same size. Sherman's cage would need it's playtop removed and the rooms' doors removed to move her cage. Whereas the other cages would fit. There is room to put all the conure cages and budgie cage across from hers in her room whereas Sherman would share a wall in the "conure" room. The "conure" room is a birdroom already though. The birdroom is closer to my bedroom whereas Sherman's is across the house. Sherman's room has carpet; birdroom, linoleum. Each room has it's pros and cons.
There's always the option of not moving anyone. I think it would benefit her to spend more time around the other birds and it would be easier on me, too. Any thoughts?
