- 10 year old Sun Conure, Browser. Coming home 6-21-10!
Hello there birdie lovers! My name is Robin (Known as BelladonnasMom on the glider forums). I'm a 37 year old nurse living in Aggieland with my partner of 9 years, Cindy, a retired Animal Control Officer. I am also Mommy to 2 teenagers (18 year old recent fledgeling and 15 year old still in the nest), 5 sugar gliders, 3 cats, and one spoiled rotten Chihuahua. We will be bringing home 10-ish year old rescued Sun Conure "Browser" on the 28th of this month.
Browser will be our first bird and we are super excited! Our longing to become bird Mommies started about a year ago when on a trip to PetCo we fell in love with a Sun named Calypso. But... being apposed to purchasing pet store animals, and certainly apposed to spending $500 on a bird that we knew NOTHING about, we had to content ourselves with loving on him through his cage bars until we found the perfect rescue to bring home. Last week we found him!!! Browser is approxinately 10 years old and was suffering from a vitamin deficiency when he was rescued by Barbara in Oklahoma. He has been restored to good health in Barbara's loving hands and looking gorgeous and we cannot wait to meet him.
Looking forward to getting to know some other Conure lovers and learning the ropes of being new bird owners.
