Do your birds leave white fluff everywhere?? My female doesn't, but there is just white fluff everywhere from my male. He seems to shed a lot! The screen behind where he perches in my room is just covered with white fluff but it is also all over the floors and such. I see it everywhere that he spends time. Never experienced this with my female though.

its just a molt of the down feathers,it does get messy i hate having to get those feathers of the bars so many, but your female will do the same.

Hmm, I've had her for a year and never seen all the white fluff. But she does molt her feathers year-round. The male ALWAYS seems to be producing white fluff! I just vacuumed everything a week ago and its all fluffed again.

While I've never seen numbers on parrots, the ruby throated hummingbird has about 940 feathers on its body and there are about 25,000 on a whistling swan, so, you'll be doing some more vacuuming.....

I definitely see those little fluff balls! I clean around and in Oliver's cage two times a day making it a snap, no more than ten minutes per time. But, when I go away and leave it to my husband that's another story!

Cleaning Tip:

I spray PAM on the bottom grating. It makes scrubbing much easier, helps prevent rusting, and it catches those floofies and dust.

and you only have chikoo to clean them up after, try 7 all shedding those white feathers, the bird room gets covered in them im sure i could make a pillow out of all the white down feathers i get on a yearly bases, and they really stick to the cages, those ones i hate having to remove, lol

Vacuuming and MOPPING every day. Ugh. Then before the mopping getting on the floor with a scrub brush on my hands and knees cleaning food off of walls, floors, cage. I feel like Cinderella.

hahahahahahahaha, tell me about it, I feel like Cinderfella:). But at least I don't any bugs or rodents running around and since you can't bug spray around the birds, I would whole lot rather spend the time cleaning.

Oh gosh those little feathers get into everything lol!!! I turn around for one second then look back and there's one floating into my drink -___-
