My unnamed sunglow boa girl is here! I took the morning off to be able to see her right away:D She came out of the box a little defensive but calmed down after a few minutes. She didn't strike or bite but she was coiled ready to react if given a reason. After a few minutes she was moving around and letting you touch her head. She's so pretty:32:

Her right out of the little cloth bag...saying give me a reason to make you bleed...

Her saying, "Oh you aren't going to kill me well okay then...."

Just some more shots of her markings and color. Shes a bit bigger than I was expecting but not by much she was born June 16th I think was the date. She is quite strong already and was trying to squeeze my fingers to death...

She was exploring her cage when I checked before heading to work. I'm going to need lots of self control to not bother her for a week!

:32: Oh my gosh, she is incredibly gorgeous!!!! Don't know how you'll manage for an entire week. :D Congrats on her. You must be all smiles.

Now that one is really pretty...

I'm so excited and the people at my work think I'm weird:cool: They all admit she's pretty at least! Sunglow is my favorite boa morph so I'm very happy to finally have one plus apparently her mom is one of the nicest (personality wise) boas the breeder has met. Even when looking at some of the new morphs available sunglow still tops the list:)

Congratulations! That is indeed a lovely snake you have there. It's nice to see a fellow reptile enthusiast on the forum. What other species do you keep?

I have had my first boa and a ball python for 12 years now. Then, within the last couple years I have added a white sided rat, silver trans pecos rat, 3 cornsnakes, black milk, cali king, hypocalico chinese beauty, albino chinese beauty, and a albino grey rat. I also have 2 bearded dragons.

I think I've almost taken over the nonfeathered pets forum soooo you will find lots of pics of everyone:D What do you keep?

Oh my gosh Victoria, she is just as gorgeous as in the first photos you showed us. *Drool*... that color morph is eye candy for sure! ps.. I wouldn't have the first clue about snake body language lol.

What a beauty!! Thanks so much for sharing her with us! Best of luck to you in the next week, I would be so anxious, but it will be well worth it!

I know it's hard to believe she's so pretty:D lol the coiled tight S shape and the fact she is raised up like that in the first pic means she's ready to bite. The more loose coils and relaxed posture like extending out means she's not thinking about biting. In a couple pics the light on the phone startled her and she drew back into the coil again in case she needed to defend herself.

I'm so impatient though:eek: Lucikly tomorrow I'll be at the shelter for a bit...distraction!

You have an impressive collection. I lean more towards the lizards, though I enjoy snakes as well and currently have a 16 year old Black Pine, and an 18 year old Jungle Carpet Python. My lizards consist of a Cyclura Rock iguana, a pair of Peacock monitors, a pair of Banded Uromastyx, a Blue tongued skink, and a Bearded Dragon. I'm hoping to get a a pair of Kimberly Rock Monitors next summer.

My co-workers think I'm weird too. They don't know what their missing ;)

update

Her first time hanging out since she came home:D So far she is another very tolerant boa. She had a little issue settling into the big cage and regurgitated her first meal. I ordered her the black plastic hides thinking that might make her feel more secure even in the big cage (after contacting the breeder her cage before was like ten times smaller than what I stuck her in). The second feeding was a success and she is now moving around her cage more often. I spotted her plotting a way to escape at the door of her cage before I turned out the lights tonight. After more than two weeks hiding away never moving around I'm glad to see her comfortable finally!

Wow.. she is stunningly beautiful! I love that head shape too. Good to hear she is finally getting more comfortable in her surroundings. Does she have a name yet?

I expect to see regular updates! :D

As you have gotten us to expect, awesome!

:D

I'm looking into the next snake now....I'll probably wait till there are 2016 babies floating around to buy again with more selection than available right now. I'm leaning towards a hypo stillwater bull snake at the moment or maybe a hypo tangerine milk. I have open spots totaling around 4 to 5 cages right now depending on when mothers snake moves out of my rack...

She is still unnamed! So is the white sided rat and the hypocalico chinese beauty.

She will be growing like a weed for the next couple years so will have lots to update on:D

Okay well the hypocalico beauty was just named. Someone just recommended the name Celeste for the boa on the snake forum but that fits the hypocalico more in my opinion...

So the hypcalico is named Celeste now! While the boa remains unnamed.

How long after she regurgitated her first meal were you able to feed her again?

Around a week after she regurgitated I fed her again. Its been about 10 days maybe since I gave her that meal (have to check my record thingy on ipad to see when she ate exactly). So shes ready to eat again now....technically she was probably ready to eat again a few days ago:54:
