Sharing cleaning equipment.

Hey guys, i'm about to order this cleaning kit Bird Maintenance: Bird Cage Cleaning Kit at Drs. Foster and Smith but I only want to buy one of them. Well i've been reading about quarantining and I just KNOW that the birds couldn't share the cleaning equipment because it would spread contageous diseases. So i'm wondering if I were to put the cleaning kit in the dishwasher if that would clean it enough to get all the bacteria off. Thanks for any answers! Mrspy

Try boiling hot water. That should sterilize it

One thing I can say for you, your no stranger to controversy, were you planing on cleaning one cage, then putting the cleaning supplies in the dishwasher, going' through the full cycle, taking them out and then cleaning the other cage? I have four cage setups, two inside, two outside, one each for the too's and one each for my macaw, I have 4 small buckets with lids with cleaning supplies in each, clearly marked on the outside for each cage, if saving the small cost of using 2 seperate cleaning kits is your main consideration for risking cross contamination then maybe you should reconsider getting another bird until your financially stable enough to do so! :31: I understand your young and don't have a lot of money, but in most of your posts you try and shortcut everything for the lack of finances, do yourself and the bird a favor and wait until your situation is more stable and you can do things the right way and not haphazardly....not trying to be mean, just giving you food for though.....like I've said before "Life is to short to take it seriously, unless your responsible for that life!"

Look! Even if someone had the money they would still try to find a way to save money. There is NOTHING wrong with trying to save money. And no i'm not going back on buying the bird. Just a simple question that I wanted answered.
