How about a sunrise.
took this just a few days ago from the kitchen window.
Early morning is my favorite time of day, everything quiet and the wild birds just starting to flit around.

Holy cow!! This is just so beautiful! Looks like itā€™s something from a Disney movie! Reminds me of our fall/winter sunrises! Love it! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you! One of the perks of where our house is. Not much in the way of scenery, but sunrise from the kitchen and sunset from the bedroom are just spectacular so often. I love it! :)

No clouds this evening for a spectacular picture as seen above.
But I did catch some nice special effects.

Youā€™re so lucky! I can see sunrises from my bedroom window, but I have to go outside for sunsets. But the winter sunrises/sunsets are spectacular! And the rare days where there are some clouds or no cloudsā€¦ they are just so magnificent! Always such a treat!

Holy cow!!! You are so lucky!!! Weā€™ve just got clouds and rain (like 90% of the summer so far) and a few sunny days that feel like hellfire to say the least. This is such a stunning photo and it feels strangely nostalgic in a way? Which is weird since Iā€™ve never been in a place like that, but it feels strangely familiar. such a wonderful picture!

This view is of our driveway leading down the hill.
Looking west from our hill is the less developed direction, East is the town that has been growing since I was a child.

Was planning on a longer stay but circumstances dictate an early return to So Cal.
My son who is taking care of the flock, his transportation broke down.
Have to see if itā€™s worth repairing or junking.
In the meantime as the song says ā€œnobody walks in LAā€ LOL.

And these photos from when I went to the gas station in Oct. at 7-8 PM. It was so fun and nice and scary all at the same time! It was nice and cool, not a whole lotta traffic, and I could enjoy my music! However, with the imminent darkness that kept encroaching on the land, my sight grew impaired, and any threats had become cloaked. I wouldā€™ve been an easy target for anyone or anything predatory, which was a horrifying thoughtā€¦ the walk and ride was so incredibly nice though, albeit unnerving with the returned silence of the night. When I was at the gas station, I believe thatā€™s when the terror set in. It had been pretty dark by then, and a moment of realization occurred. Halfway through the neighborhood, the light posts cease to illuminate the streets, for more hadnā€™t been placed much farther. It would be dark there. Unsettled by the thought of what could happen to me, I entered the gas station, holding a 50$ bill. I figured if I was going to be risking my life, I might as well make it worth my while. As youā€™d expect, the gas station was full of sketchy people, and intimidating men, unfriendly faces and gazes looked my way. Its not very often you see a young teenager wander into a gas station, this late, alone, on a school night. I remained silent and grabbed some peace teas, a redbull, and some Pringles, paid for my items, on scuttled out of there as fast as possible. I crammed my goods into my sling, making it bulge out and look incredibly silly. I peered around, waiting for there to be very little activity in the dark parking lot, taking mental note of the little light that remained. It was dangerously close to being pitch black. Once I was in the clear, I left the parking lot, pedaling downhill on my bike. I struggled to see on the corner, which nearly resulted in a crash, which would have rendered me unable to continue my ride, for I would have been badly torn up by the large, jagged rocks that filled the ditch to my right. I cruised down the somewhat straight road, only occasionally stopping to take a quick breather. Having This playing loudly in one earbud, while biking at night, did not help my anxiety, and only brought more terror to my mind, making my heart beat harder, faster, which only winded me quicker. I felt a sense of impending doom, the darker it got. The darker it got, the faster my heart pulsated. The faster my heart raced, the quicker I grew exhausted. By the time I pulled into the driveway, I was more than ready to lay sit down and enjoy my snacks. When I dismounted the saddle of my bike, this satisfying song played in my mind, as I had just finished my most dangerous snack run. It felt as if a huge mission had been accomplished! Safe to say, that night was the most memorable and enjoyed night of my life. And my snacks had never tasted so good.
