Well as you know I love a talking bird and my Shaggy is trying say some words now. I call him Papa a lot and he's been trying to say that - I think his name maybe a little difficult. He talks in a low male voice and sometimes I see him moving his beak like he's practicing something inaudible. I know from my past birds that they like to practice before they actually come out and say something for the first time so that's a great sign. He's getting much more comfortable with the family now. This morning he greet me with the eye pinning and his low grumbling over by his food bowl as if to say "Good morning now feed me!" I've been taking him outside every day and I don't think he's been out very much before I got him because he's very watchful of the sky the whole time he's out. But we do it in small doses and he seems to be getting more comfortable with the whole idea. I just took him out and put him on the patio chair and he started to whistle and try to say "papa". I know he's going to be an excellent companion! :rainbow1:

Sounds like you have a great Friend.

BB tries saying a lot of new words when he thinks no one is around. Late / Sunset just about roosting time. So listen close when he goes down for the night you might hear . Its really cute when they whisper .

Salty loves to talk most while dinner is being prepped by my wife. The pots and pans start rattling, and he starts laughing and 'hello salty, good boy, good bird, singing little brown jug, and all sorts of sounds'.
That's a good sign that your owa is trying, just talk to him a lot, he'll catch on.

Recently after my Buddy met my MLW, he has started saying "Buddy is a good boy". Totally new since I got him just over 2 years ago. I've been told Buddy has a large vocabulary. We are working on him, that good boy comment was a star development, not planned, expected, it just came out. I know my little guy has a treasure chest and from the sounds of it so does yours.
