my 3 year old sun conure is always pressed up against the cage, and "flutters" her wings quickly. she will also do this on the counter and cage top. also strokes her beak on my stomach and hand.

anyone filll me in about this?

it is cute, but the "humping" bothers me

thanks in advance!

it does sound like your little birdie is "growing up". They will pick something to attend to: a perch, toy, person. When one of my macaws or such would begin to exhibit more intimate behavior, I would give them a quick kiss and then put them back in their cage or on their perch. They are not doing anything wrong and therefore a positive distraction is best. It is spring and the hormones have sprung. Just be patient during these times, the hormones should quiet down once the season is done.:blue:

What comes naturally should not let it bother you. Just look at this from a bird point of view. You are supercharged with harmones and there is no potential mate for them. What to do?

oh I'm not complaining, I just like when she is goofy and dances. I love getting scratched so I don't mind the beak rubs lol. cute no matter what she does

Time outs are the best way to help them deal with the frustrations going on in the Springtime.

Time out usually means to put back in the cage and you leave the room for a short while. Sorry I should have explained this in detail.
