I am trying to make the decision whether to get a Severe or Hahns Macaw ..... Any advice is welcome....I currently have a YN Amazon and Vos Eclectus so it's not a responsibility / what am I getting into question - more differences in personality and any other difference. Thanks in advance for your help!

I have a Hahns Macaw and I really like him. I do not have personal experience with other min macaw species whether it be Severe, Yellow Collared, or Illigers macaws. I have seen people post stating Severe macaws are the most difficult mini macaws. You already have a Amazon and medium/ large bird experience so I am sure whatever mini macaw you choose I do not doubt will be fine for you. Depending on what species of min macaw you decide on your min macaw might be about the same size or a little bit littler then your Amazon. They say Hahn's macaws are more likely to talk out of the mini macaw species. My bird (who is under a year old and a baby) in a baby voice already says step up.

I like severes and it'll fit into your flock nicely as it'll be similar size as your other birds.

Hahns are quite small but with big bird personalities (like all little birds) and doesn't mind invading big bird space and potentially getting hurt.

I would say meet both and see which one bonds better with you! Personally, I think severe macaws are beautiful birds who are well worth the effort. There's also more to cuddle :).Both hahns and severe macaws can be pretty feisty, but I think its good challenge! Good luck with your choice!
