!! So I enjoy a good horror movie now and then.
When Don and I have days off together we like to see a matinee. We went today to see the movie Ouija. First of all, I am personally against that sort of thing in real life. But it's just a movie. A thriller movie, and I enjoy a good horror flick sometimes right?

This has got to be up there among THE SCARIEST movies I can probably ever recall seeing. I didn't realize it was going to be "so much of" a horror movie as it was. We were the only two people in the theater. We jumped so many times, and the adrenaline jolt from having the * startled out of you so many times in an hour couldn't be good for you lol. It started out a bit slow, but once it picked up it was almost too much LOL! :22_yikes:

Have you seen it? Am I just being a wimp?! :52:

Anyone else like horror movies? Stephen King has some good ones too.

Ravensgryf, you are brave! I was too chicken to see that one. So would you say it's scarier than Silence of the Lambs or the Exorcist???? those were the 2 scariest I've ever seen.

I'm currently watching American Horror Story - Freak Show on tv right now. That is pretty scary, specially if you are scared of clowns. I can also recommend the movie Gone Girl. VERY GOOD psychological thriller, as good as the book was. Not "horror" scary, but very tense with lots of twists and turns.

The movies that scare me the most are the psychological thrillers... Silence of the Lambs, The Shining, etc. The slice and dice don't scare me as much. I bet Ouija would scare the snot out of me though.

I really don't (or haven't) seen nearly as many movies per year as many people do. I have never seen the Exorcist, but Silence of the Lambs is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITES!! I think that one is more "creepy" than scary.

Ouija's characters are teenagers (far out of my age range) but that's irrelevant. Anyone who'd like a good scare will find it scary. Unless you're one of those people who are SO jaded that nothing scares you.

Another movie that I'm longing to see again is Stephen King's Rose Red. It's very long. More than one part, and I think it was about 5 hours. I might have to buy it online.

I am dying to see Ouija! So glad to hear it is good, I love horror movies but so many are no suspense, just gore. I love a good scare:)
One of my favourites is 30 Days of Night. Scared me to death.

Ouija isn't blood and gore. You and Reg HAVE TO see it, then report back here and tell me what you thought!

I haven't heard of 30 days of night.

I haven't seen it yet nor looked at the trailers voluntarily, but now I know that my decision was a wise choice :D ! Now I kind of want to see it, hopefully with a larger audience!

I LOVE horror movies, but now thinking back on it it was more on the gore side. But I'm also really paranoid after watching, I can't tell you how many times I slept with a weapon next to me at night or walking in the hallways. So I guess I have this love and hate relationship ?

I'm a huge American Horror Story fan, I loved every single season so far. My favorite has to be Asylum or Coven. (I call being a human voodoo doll btw). I can't wait for tomorrow's episode, hopefully Jessica Lange will do a bit more covers?

Ouija is on my list, perhaps later this week!

I like horror movies provided they are more plot-rich as opposed to the slice/dice/blood/gore variety. Stephen King is perhaps king of the genre, but most of my experience with him is book rather than movie.

What's it about? Conjuring demons and whatnot? I think it's been several years since I've seen a movie in a theatre lol. I tend to watch a lot of documentaries, crime shows (the ones on psychopaths and serial killers are scary/creepy because they're real) and then some straight trash TV (whatever happens to be free on youtube). We don't even own a TV or subscribe to anything like Netflix, so the amount of movies worth attaching free on youtube are....extremely limited (just can't justify spending money on it). I think the last "new" horror movie I watches was one of the Saw movies. I jump when things "jump out", but most horror movies I end up invariably laughing at by the end because it's just SO ridiculous. Especially ones made in the last decade- WAY overdone IMO. I'm kind of weird though...

Wanna watch something truly scary (very disturbing and definitely NOT for children)? Watch the documentary of David Parker Ray. Now THAT scared the crap out of me:eek: I think he is probably the scariest man who lived in modern times. And if he got away with what he was doing for as long as he did, I'm sure theres others just like him out there who haven't been caught:52:

I don't want to give away what it's about! You and your hubby should just go and see it. Make sure you don't have a full bladder...

Since we moved here in June, we don't have tv in our part of the house set up. I used to be absolutely addicted to the ID channel - like you said, the crime shows about killers and psychopaths, etc. I loved Deadly Women, Nightmare Next Door, I Almost Got Away With it, and Stalked. I watch it at my mom's house, and she can't understand how I could love watching that stuff. It's so interesting!

I'll have to check out YouTube. David Parker Ray... I'll definitely check that one out.
