My GW, Salsa, lost one of his longest tail feathers. It's the first tail feather he's lost since he came to me on June14. What amazes me is how close Salsa is in size, dimensions, and weight to my Hy, Zaffer. Zaf lost one of his longest tail feathers a few weeks ago. I placed the two tail feathers side-by-side on a table and as it turns out they are almost identical in length to the millimeter. These birds are really well size-matched. Now all I have to do is get them to become friends - easier said than done though.

Can't count how many I've got laying around LOL

ReaRea's tail is VERY full right now compared to Miri, I'm thinking Miri is about to have a bunch of new tail feathers come in.

Beautiful feathers!!!
Good luck getting them to like each other, nothings cooler to watch than two macaws playing and having fun together(well may be three macaws is lol)

Thanks. The main issue is that poor Zaf is afraid of Salsa. This wasn't always the case, though. When I first arrived home with Salsa, Zaf was very excited and kept repeating "hello.. hello... hello..." to Salsa. I started taking Zaf over to Salsa's cage and they would gently rub beaks. I could tell they were intrigued with one another. Then Salsa started leaping onto me from his playstand (or his cage top) when Zaf and I were near him and Zaf was either on my shoulder or my forearm. Salsa would leap onto me like that from 2.5 feet away. Poor Zaf immediately became terrified of brash Salsa and all bets of friendship between them (anytime soon at least) were then off :-\

Rea and Miri definitely have a love/hate relationship so far, I'm sure it's due to the completely different personalities. Rea is just so laid back and mellow and Miri is gung-ho, can't sit still. When they do get along its great but it usually doesn't last more than 30 minutes or so. (and when Rea has had enough, MAN can you hear her yell no matter where you are in the house) I've been "nibbled" on by all the birds, but I would NEVER want to see Rea mad at a person, I have no doubt she is the strongest by far.

Miri sounds a lot like Salsa personality-wise. He's continually active, running around, playing with toys, hopping, vocalizing, etc.

Wow. :) I always save my fid's feathers. When my tiel Tweeters passed away I put his feathers I kept in a little wooden box for memories and such. Kind of like ashes, I suppose... I plan on doing the same with all my birds. I feel that some of them is still with me, and in their home that way... :)

I'm like you. I keep many of their feathers and I'm sure I'll do the same thing if any of them pass before I do.

Here's an example of Salsa's hyperness:

It can't be... I set it as unlisted and checked it twice. I'll look again though.
Yep, I'm right. It says "This video is unlisted. Only those with the link can see it." So it IS set as 'unlisted' and NOT 'private'. Unless Youtube screwed up and somehow has it set both ways.

well ya dun somethin, it played now. I'll try to get some video's of mine as well

I didn't do a thing... all I did was go to the same URL that's in the link I pasted here and saw that it said it was 'unlisted'. It must've been a Youtube SNAFU ;)
