Joy - Sun Conure
I have a very affectionate Sun Conure, and after a traumatic episode in my life last week she's been insisting on sleeping with me under my chin. She cries and paces if I try to cage her, crawls over if I put her on her playstand, and I could use the company anyway. Has anyone found a way to safely let their bird do this without being scared of crushing them?

Sorry i've never tried to do so because of the very reason you stated above of the possibility of turning over or whatever and crushing him, and also because i have dog and if i didn't crush him, i'm sure he would! What about just bringing the cage over right beside your bed? Personally i wouldn't recommend sleeping with your bird because not only could you toss over, depending on what kind of stuff you have in your room he could get into it(i'm sure you how birds can be - nosy and into everything!) and possibly get very sick.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE NEVER LET A BIRD SLEEP WITH YOU !!!!
HAVE READ MANY STORIES AND BELIEVE ME THE ENDINGS WERE NOT A HAPPY ONES.
Rather keep her in a smaller cage right next to your bed, and talk to her.
Meghan has explained it well DITTO Meghan.
Keep us posted, I know it's been a while.
Take care

Imagine how you would feel if you managed to fall asleep with bird in bed with you and woke up and birdie was no longer alive.
I agree with the other 2 post in keeping bird cage near you. Time heals all wounds. Birdie will understand.
